Thanksgiving in Augusta

My brother and sister-in-law have been hosting Thanksgiving for the past few years, and this year was no different. Chris was working in the ED on Thanksgiving, which is also no different than the past 3 years.

As we were driving on the interstate, of course we stopped at a Hardee's in the middle of nowhere, and of COURSE there was a woman in the parking lot riding horses with her daughter. They had ridden to Hardee's for a quick lunch before roasting their turkey. Worked out great for us because Michael got to ride his first horse!

I don't know who that girl is, but she taught Michael all about horses and let him pet one.

Then onward to Augusta! There was a great crowd of people there, but no one had the presence of mind to take a photo of the whole group, or of the awesome spread my sis-in-law created. We did get some snapshots though.

And even though Daddy couldn't make it to Thanksgiving, I had to include this picture because it is so adorable.

Michael and Gabby

We went to Vidalia for a few days over Thanksgiving, and Michael's friend Gabby came to visit. They had a great time, but were totally not into photographs, as you can see.

Fall Photos

I'm afraid I'm playing catch-up with the blogging. There has been no shortage of adorable-ness over the past 2 months. Here's a hodgepodge from November.

Bedtime!

Tonight, we were all playing in the nursery, and Michael was having a good old time pushing his toys around and opening/closing the door (his new favorite activity). All of a sudden, he just walked over to his crib and held his hands up and started whimpering. I picked him up and he immediately laid his head on my shoulder and closed his eyes. It was darling. I guess he knows the value of a good night's sleep!

Happy Halloween

Been a while, huh?

We went to a costume party tonight. For the first half hour, Michael wouldn't let me put him down or he would start crying. For the next 2 hours, he wouldn't sit still or let me pick him up. He was too busy exploring and trying to find some way to injure himself. I think I actually lost weight at this party because I was chasing him around so much. (That, and my costume was kind of hot so I was sweating a little.) His favorite thing to do was climb the stairs, then dive down, then climb again, then dive down. Etc. Fortunately, his costume was so padded that he was virtually bullet proof.

Here are some of the highlights. The rest of the pictures are available here.

Michael is a Fire Breathing Dragon. I am a Damsel in Distress. (Unfortunately, my Knight in Shining Armor was working from 3-11.)

The Cassidy-Vu family. (Yes, she handmade those Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch costumes.) I kept putting the peanut M&M's out of reach in the middle of the table so Michael couldn't get into them, but every time I turned around, Cookie Monster had pulled them back to the edge to get herself a handful.

And finally...more attempts at trying to get a roomful of babies to all smile at once.

Football!

Michael was born at the beginning of football season last year, but, being a newborn, wasn't too into it. This year, however, he is ready to cheer for the Bulldogs! (Well, and the yellow jackets, unfortunately, but mostly the dawgs.) He got to watch his first game on TV yesterday, but spent most of his time exploring his friend Brooks's house. He managed to still have fun, even though Mommy was very sad at how the game turned out. After the game, he got to practice his football in the front yard for a while in his red and black. Click here for the full photo shoot. (His birthday pictures are at the end of this link.)

Here are a few of my favorites.

Grandma is a football fan, too.

You'll notice that Daddy is suspiciously absent from all of these pictures. He was at work. He'll have to be very sneaky if he wants to get any GA Tech shots.
